Sansom is my favourite series of books. Set in a period of profound turmoil and intrigue, I found Lamentation to be a gripping, thrilling listen. Lamentation has inspired me to listen to the series from the start (yet) again. C. J. Sansom was educated at Birmingham University, where he took a BA and then a PhD in history. After working in a variety of jobs, he retrained as a solicitor and practised in Sussex, until becoming a full-time writer.
